Today's painting is actually a commission piece for a friend of mine. This is her sweet dog Missy that passed away and she wanted a painting done to give to her husband. Don't we all love our sweet furry babies! This was a joy to paint and I hope he will love it!

This is my most recent painting in my sheep theme. This time I tried backlighting them and I like the glow around them. It was a challenge but I enjoyed it. I am also using oils again after my latest workshop with Gayle Levee where we spent an entire weekend mixing colors in oil and I was absolutely amazed at some of the colors we could mix! It was so exciting! Below I have my most recent pet portrait of a little Havanese named Lucy! This is the first of several Pet Portraits I have agreed to do for Christmas. Therefore, this particular painting is not for sale. Anyone who has read the novel "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" will recognize the significance of the title! I love painting dogs and hope to paint many more!
